May 25:
Haiku by Andrew Vachss
Abandoning his duties as a sensei after his reckless arrogance causes the death of a protégée; the war-weary Ho slowly attracts a motley band of followers before launching a desperate blackmail scheme that is complicated by the planned destruction of a building.

June 29:
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson learns he is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and Poseidon, God of the Sea. His mother sends him to a summer camp for demigods where he and his new friends set out on a quest to prevent a war between the gods.

July 27:
The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen
Josey Cirrini is sure of three things: winter is her favorite season, she's a sorry excuse for a Southern belle, and sweets are best eaten in the privacy of her closet. For while Josey has settled into an uneventful life in her mother's house, her one consolation is the stockpile of sugary treats and paperback romances she escapes to each night.

August 31:
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
A young woman discovers an ancient book and a cache of old letters in her father's library, and thus begins her adventurous quest for the truth about Vlad the Impaler. The search spans continents and generations, and a confrontation with the darkest powers of evil lurks behind every corner and building.
